Description

PR100G is a 1-poprt Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Repeater providing a 100/100/1000Mbps Ethernet transmission for 100-meter distance and with 2 Ethernet switch ports extending individually another 100-meter with or without power over Ethernet capability. It forwards both 10/100/1000M Ethernet and PoE for another 330ft (100m) using an innovative power-processing scheme and multiple units can be deployed in series for even longer distances, with no degradation in network speed or latency. PR100G itself is powered by an 10/100/1000M Ethernet PoE switch (or gigabit PoE injector) and so requires no separate power connection in the middle of the cable, making it extremely easy to connect and power IP cameras two or three times further than previously possible without going to fiber or installing midspan power sources.

In the simplest application, a PR100G allows to connect one PoE Device (PD) located 200 meters away from the gigabit PoE switch. The gigabit PoE switch delivers PoE power over the first 100 meters of Cat5 cable to the PR100G, and the PR100G restores the Ethernet signal and forwards remaining PoE power to the PD 100m away. The PR100G requires no local power supply, and the PR100G presents no restriction to the Ethernet network connection. Typically, the gigabit PoE switch would be confined to a centrally located equipment room, and would connect to several PDs distributed about the site. With PR100G, each PD may have its own dedicated connection to the switch, and power cable installation to remote switches would not be required.
